Research shows that younger sleepers thrive with a firmer feel on the surface of their mattress as they transition from a crib mattress, which is why we’ve chosen a firmer feel for ages 2-7. As they grow, flip this mattress to the other side for a more plush feel, recommended for ages 8 and up.

2-Sided Construction

This flippable natural mattress features a firmer side, for developing children ages 2-7, and a softer side for children ages 8 and up. Steel coils sandwiched between the 2 age-appropriate sides provide stability and durability for your growing child.

Buying a new mattress for your child is a big decision. And we want to make sure you're completely confident in that decision. That's why every Birch Kids Natural Mattress comes with a 100 Night Sleep Trial. Give your child the chance to roll around, test it out, and decide whether it's a great fit! After trying your mattress for 30 days, if you or your child are unhappy with it for any reason, you can return it for a refund within 100 night trial period.

Please note, the 100 Night Sleep Trial begins on the day of delivery and there is a $99 removal fee for all mattress returns to cover the cost of picking up your mattress. We do our very best to donate, recycle, or otherwise repurpose all returned mattresses.

We designed the Birch Kids Natural Mattress with bunk beds in mind and limited the overall height of the mattress to 8 inches in order to be compatible with most bunk bed setups. We do highly recommend, though, that you consult the specific safety guidelines for your bunk bed to confirm whether it is compatible with an 8-inch mattress.

In developing the Birch Kids Natural Mattress, we followed industry guidance around the support required for young sleepers as they grow. The firmer side of our mattress provides a bit more support for kids who are transitioning from a crib mattress. As kids grow and develop the softer side offers a bit more plush comfort. Learn more
