Birch Wool

New Zealand
Birch Wool plays a key role in providing comfort and insulation to your mattress. We strive to supply the best quality natural & organic wool that is sourced sustainably, which is why all the wool in our products can be traced back to the individual farms in New Zealand. Each farm is compliant with the PGC Wrightson Wool Integrity Program which guarantees best farming practices with free range, pasture fed sheep.

Our Materials - 1
The Orthocortex and paracortex construction in the wool allows for the curl in the wool fibers acting as a spring to help retain shape for longer and providing durability.
The high-stretch and versatile nature of our wool allows it to be bent over 20,000 times before it breaks.
The hygroscopic nature and multi-layer cellular structure of wool create a natural insulator to regulate temperature.
When exposed to an open flame, wool fibers turns to carbon which resists fire. This makes wool one of the safest fibers for fire safety.
Organic Cashmere
Inner Mongolia
Cashmere is well known across the globe as a luxuriously soft, premium material. It comes from the dense and downy undercoat of cashmere goats who live in some of the harshest climates in the world. These ultra-fine, lightweight hairs have incredible insulating and moisture wicking properties, which allow for exceptional temperature regulation. This keeps the goats warm in the winter, but also cools them down and keeps them dry in the summer.

The organic virgin cashmere we source for the Birch Luxe Natural Mattress is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and is naturally very elastic, durable, and breathable. The fine hairs come from free range goats that are tended by nomadic herders in Inner Mongolia who comb and shear the goats annually.

Latex

Southeast Asia
Latex is vital in providing the cradling support of your mattress. We use 100% natural latex sustainably tapped from the tropical rubber tree Hevea Brasiliensis, which grow in Southeast Asia, Africa, and Brazil. All of the latex we use is both eco-INSTITUT Certified and GREENGUARD Gold Certified to ensure safety and low chemical emissions. Additionally, we source exclusively from closely monitored plantations.

The Birch Natural Mattress, Plush Organic Mattress Topper, and Organic Pillow all feature Talalay latex, while the Birch Luxe Natural Mattress upgrades to Pulse latex.

Natural latex is not susceptible to molding and accumulating harsh microbes. It acts as a natural barrier to dust mites.
Talalay latex is up to 7 times more breathable than other types of latex. Pulse latex is even more breathable, due to its more aerated pouring and manufacturing process.
Our mattresses have been tested and found free of volatile organic compounds, chemical exposure, and pollutants.
