Eco-Friendly Mattress Materials
At Birch, our mission is to use natural materials that reduce our environmental impact as much as possible, which is why our high quality, natural mattress is produced with raw materials that are sustainably sourced. Our mattresses may arrive in a box, but they are high quality, responsibly manufactured, and safe for you and the planet. In addition, we stand behind the durability of our hybrid mattresses, which come outfitted with hundreds of individually wrapped innersprings and limited lifetime warranties, so you can rest easy with Birch.
Organic Latex
All of the latex we use is natural and sourced from Sri Lanka. All three Natural Mattresses are made with natural latex for improved cooling and airflow. All of the partners we source latex from adhere to strict social, environmental, and economic standards.
Natural Wool
Birch uses only natural New Zealand wool sheared from sheep in our hybrid mattresses. All the wool we source has been produced with the best practice standards and strict animal welfare codes. And like the other materials in our natural and organic mattress, our wool is of the highest quality, offering both safety and comfort.
Organic & Fair Trade Cotton
At Birch, we take our claim of providing a truly eco-friendly mattress seriously. Among our other earth-friendly materials, we also use Fair Trade cotton in our bedding, and organic cotton to make the mattress cover. Our soft organic cotton cover weave design provides a soft, plush mattress top layer that provides breathability and airflow so you can sleep comfortably and safely.
A Green Mattress Brand for a Better Future
Our natural materials are certified sustainable to ensure the transparency of our supply chain. Our organic materials are certified Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS). Our mattresses produce low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) so that off-gassing, ozone depleters, phthalates, heavy metals, pesticides, dangerous fire retardants, unsafe emissions, and their related health issues aren’t a problem. In addition, our manufacturing facilities are GREENGUARD Gold certified
