The Birch Elite includes three layers of organic latex: a comfort layer in the plush Euro top of the mattress, a softer layer which provides ergonomic contouring, and a firmer layer for cradling responsiveness. The Birch Elite's base contains hundreds of 8" steel coils, to provide the ultimate support and restorative sleep for years to come. Do you offer free shipping?

Yes! Every Birch mattress ships for free (in a box!) in the contiguous USA.* All Birch products are made to order, and are assembled and shipped from our Arizona factory within several days, depending on the specific product. Please refer to specific product pages for shipping estimates. Birch Elite Mattresses are shipped in two boxes. *Shipping rates apply for Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada. See Terms & Conditions of Sale.

How does your 120 day trial work?

You have 120 nights to sleep on your mattress: if you are not completely satisfied for any reason, we’ll organize a seamless exchange for a mattress of greater or equal value, or facilitate a return. We do ask that you take a minimum of 30 days to adjust to your mattress and break it in. Learn more

Please note: there is a $99 removal fee for all mattress returns to cover the cost of picking up your mattress. We do our very best to donate, recycle, or otherwise repurpose all returned mattresses. 

What if I want to return my mattress?

We get it: every person is unique with their own different sleep preferences, and you need to see how it feels. If you’re not 100% satisfied with your mattress, we will do everything we can to make it right. Go ahead and sleep on your mattress: you have 120 nights to try it out. If you aren’t completely satisfied for any reason, we’ll organize a seamless exchange for a mattress of equal or greater value, or facilitate a free, fast return. What if something is wrong with my mattress when I get it?

Don’t worry: your new Birch mattress is protected against defects in workmanship and materials by a Limited Lifetime Warranty, and claims are straightforward. This limited warranty covers all manufacturing defects, and gives you certain legal rights. Learn more

Our mattresses are all handmade, and we try our best to get measurements exact. There may be slight variances due to this.

What's the difference between the Birch Elite Mattress and the Birch Luxe Natural Mattress?

The Birch Elite Natural Mattress is made with an additional inch of latex, placed in the top quilt for a more cradling and responsive feel in the surface of the mattress. The Birch Elite also has a micro-coil layer for additional pressure relief, and its coil base has zoned lumbar support and full perimeter reinforcement for enhanced durability. The additional comfort layers in the Birch Elite give it more of a medium-soft feel, compared to the Birch Luxe which has a true medium feel.

Does the Birch Elite Mattress require deep pocket sheets

At 15 inches tall, the Birch Elite mattress may be a bit too tall to work well with most standard fitted sheets. We recommend a deep-pocketed sheet that can accommodate a mattress of this height, like our Organic Cotton Sheet Set. 

What if I have a latex allergy?

Natural latex hypoallergenic and anti-microbial: it is not susceptible to molding and accumulating harsh microbes, and acts as a natural barrier to dust mites. We recommend, however, that customers with a latex allergy consult with their medical provider before purchasing.

Does the Birch Luxe Natural Mattress require a box spring, foundation, or a particular base?

We recommend avoiding the use of a traditional box spring directly under your mattress. Instead, we suggest using either a solid platform bed or a slatted foundation with firm, flat and thick slats, to properly support your Birch mattress. No matter which support system you choose, the slats should be no wider than 5.5 inches apart, as that could cause sagging and could potentially void your warranty. Learn more
