Our two mattresses have similar designs and combine organic cotton, organic wool, and natural latex layers. They’ve also both earned multiple safety and responsible manufacturing credentials.The difference, though, is in the details. Let’s go through the enhancements we’ve made, layer by layer.
The Birch Natural Mattress was designed with two comfort layers, made with 100% organic New Zealand wool, and a pressure relief layer, entirely made of natural latex. Both of these materials have natural qualities that maximize the breathability of this mattress as well as the comfort of its sleepers
We use natural Talalay latex that is soft enough to cradle your hips and shoulders while still supportive enough to keep you from sinking too far into the mattress.
On top of this Talalay latex pressure relief layer, we have a comfort layer made of organic wool. We chose organic wool because of its natural breathability and hygroscopic properties, which help to wick away moisture and keep sleepers cool while they sleep.This comfort layer not only promotes temperature regulation, but also provides loft and a plush feel for unparalleled comfort.
Birch Luxe Natural Mattress
For an upgraded sleep experience on a natural and organic mattress, the Birch Luxe Natural Mattress is your answer. Designed with three comfort layers, this mattress has even better airflow and breathability and features a comfort layer with organic wool fibers and two more comfort layers made of 100% organic wool that will be comfortable for sleepers, no matter their preferred sleep position.
The Birch Luxe Natural Mattress uses premium 100% natural latex in its pressure relief layer. For side sleepers, this medium-firm latex design provides pressure relief and contouring for both your hips and shoulders while back and stomach sleepers will appreciate how the latex supports them while they sleep and helps keep their spines in line.
The Birch Luxe is finished with an organic cotton matelassé woven cover and plush Euro top, making it even more fancy and comfortable!
Both the Birch Natural Mattress and Birch Luxe Natural Mattress rely on 8-inch steel coils to provide durable support for sleepers regardless of their preferred sleep position, size, or weight. However, in the enhanced Luxe model, we’ve taken that support to the next level with a coil base composed of up to one thousand individually wrapped steel coils that cradle sleepers and limit motion transfer. We’ve also added targeted zoned lumbar support and a reinforced four-sided perimeter (compared to the 2-edge reinforcements in the Birch Natural Mattress) to provide exceptional support and structure throughout the entire mattress.
